Untested Ele Build
First off, this is just a thought. Fought a guy with something along these lines just before school and came up with an exact build during the drive. But now that I'm home its too late to try it now. So I'll ask you guys here for imputs instead of testing it.
And not sure if it would work in tombs since I've never fought there. Haven't found the purpose of spending 15-20 minutes of preperation for a 2-3 minute battle. Sure that discovering a new idea that works is well worth it, but I'll leave that to the few experts who actually do that.
On to the build:
Res Sig, simple fact that the person who I res will have 7 other skills to use compared to the one that I might have instead, not to mention his 400+ health that can be used as a tank.
Immolate
Fireball
Flare
Gale
Arcane Echo
Aura of Restoration
Ether Renewal
Last two I just threw in, probably if I thought about it more I could come up with something a little better.
Idea would be to echo the gale. Then immolate, gale, fireball, gale, flare, flare, gale, immolate, gale, fireball...sure you get the idea. They stay knocked down and you just burn them as you wish. Use Ether to stay up on energy and the aura is basically just an enchantment that you pump up Ether with.
1v1 pretty sure it would work. After the echo runs out though, kind of useless.

Why not use Fire Attunement instead of Aura of Restoration?
Anyway, the issue with this is that Gale causes exhaustion. You'll deplete your bar quite quickly.
Why not try:
Enervating Charge
Stoning
Arcane Echo
Earth Attunement
Aura of Restoration
Armor of Earth
Ether Renewal
Res Sig (or Gale)
instead?

Ether Renewal isn't going to help a whole lot with nothing to spam, unless you're with a team throwing quite a few more enchants around.

Spam Stonings! I used to run this build with QZ instead of Arcane Echo in arenas before the QZ nerf, and it worked beautifully.

Sorry man, your template is not going to work. Ether Renewal wont help you when your fully exhausted. When you want someone to stay knocked down, you have to waste youself on it. Which isnt really tactical. Lets just go trough it. You Knockdown the monk for 20seconds, by doing one gale after the other, without other skills.
Now the monk is dead, someone of the ennemies revives him.
Lets look at the battleground.
You still have 4ennemies against you, but your team only has 3players able to fight, why?
Because your fully exhausted. So in fact, its not really worth it.
You're going to say that you will only do gale after a few spells? Ok it is an idea, its really annoying for a monk, but firstly you wont have him knocked down all the time and secondly it can be helpfull, but only if the whole team attacks the monk and if you gale him at the right time.
Thats how it is.

I knew one of my guildmates that spammed Gale in battle then rendered himself useless after a few minutes. As, Entropius suggested, Enervating Charge + Stoning works beautifully to knock people down. No worries of exhaustion, but at a much higher energy cost.

That is not a very effective build. Reference off of Entropius' and Neoteo's comments, adjust it according to your taste.

Stoning, 15 energy per cast. I knock you down 4 times and its 60 energy, not to mention the 10 I spend on the Enervating. That only leave 10-20 energy on dmg spells.
Don't think that would be an effective Ele build. And the meteor shower in the fire build...If I'm facing people that would actually be hit by that, then I can beat them with any 7 skills I bring.
But seems you guys don't think this will work, so I'll just stick to spiking. Thanks.

I could cast Stoning nonstop with this build -- under Quickening Zephyr, when stonings are 19.5 energy a pop.
Ether Renewal really is that good.

I think if you just want to keep a guy knocked down, get thunderclap. Then you just hit him with that, once, and shoot him with your wand (or use lightning strike or other weak lightning spells if you prefer). Certainly, I don't think gale is the way to go because of exhaustion. Stoning/enervating is better. If you need a spam skill and don't want to use stoning, just grab stone daggers and spam it a couple times.
